We exist to spread the joy of the gospel, celebrate our faith and support our community across Far North Queensland.

The Diocese of Cairns covers a broad and diverse region, stretching from Cardwell in the south, west across the Tablelands to the Northern Territory border, and north to Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands. Our bishops, priests, and deacons serve 23 parishes and parish clusters, along with 27 schools and colleges across three deaneries.

St Monica's Cathedral in Cairns is a remarkable Catholic cathedral known for its historical and architectural value.

Inside, it features stained-glass windows portraying the creation story.

Additionally, there is a notable monument commemorating the Battle of the Coral Sea.
